After the success of the fully operative HO rail vacuum cleaner you can
complete the cleaning technique with the HO railcar for overhead contact
line and rail cleaning. These two vehicles complement each other in their
mode of operation. The main item of the HO railcar for overhead contact
line and rail cleaning is the high-speed driven, radially working scrubbing
and polishing mechansim with the Faulhaber motor.

The polishing disks consist of a plastic bound fibrous web fixed in their
position inside the driving block. Downward pressure is adjusted through
a regulating screw up to the point where a scrubbing and polishing effect
on the rail or catenary contact wire appears. The fibrous polishing material
only leads to a slight static friction.
When current through the wheels is interrupted by dirty rails, the scrubbing
continues as power is supplied by integral batteries. The batteries are
charged through the contact line. When the driving block is turned so that
the grinding wheels point upward, the vehicle is ideal for cleaning the
catenary contact wire. A coiled spring ensures the consistent pressure acting
against the contact wire. The standard railcar without decoder can be used
the Märklin digital system. Digital control is used only to turn the
unit ON/OFF.
